Accounts: Overview

Each Category is composed of one or more Accounts. For example, a budget may have a 2500 SET OPERATIONS Category that contains multiple Accounts for crew positions (like 2503 for DOLLY GRIPS) and equipment packages (like 2517 for GRIP RENTALS).

The Accounts presented within a Category show a roll-up of the total costs within each Account. To enter the cost details for a given account see the Details section.

Category Fringe rows (e.g.  1099, 2599, etc) may appear here depending on the selections made in Budget Preferences.

Accessing Accounts

To see the Accounts in a Category, double click the line number on the far left of that Category row in the Topsheet.

You can also press CMD + DOWN ARROW on a Mac or CTRL + DOWN ARROW on a PC when a cell in that row is selected.

You can also use the Find Category/Account Number feature to jump straight to a given Category.

In a Category the first Account cell in the top left will usually be selected and active by default.

Numbering & Naming Accounts

With a selected cell in the Account column you can just start typing your Account Number for that Account (see Account Coding for more details).

Select the Account Description field to type in the name of the Account.

You can alway DOUBLE CLICK a cell or select it and press F2 to edit an existing value (rather than overwriting it).

NOTE: Accounts contain Account Details. Renaming or renumbering the Account will not change the details within it. Deleting, cutting, or copying an Account will affect all the Details within it.

Inserting new Account Rows

  • Right-click any row in the Category and click on Insert Row
  • Select any row and press CMD + I on a Mac or CTRL + I on a PC
  • Press ENTER with the last row of the Category selected
  • Press TAB with the last cell in the last row of the Category selected

Drilling Down into an Account

To "drill down" into an Account, double-click the line number in the far-left column.

You can also select a cell in that row and press CMD + DOWN ARROW on a Mac or CTRL + DOWN ARROW on a PC.

Getting Back to the Category

From the Detail Account Level click on the Category section of the breadcrumb at any time to return to the Topsheet.

You can also traverse up the levels of the budget by pressing CMD + UP ARROW on a Mac or CTRL + UP ARROW on a PC. This will return you to the Category level from the Account Detail level.
