Using Locations¶
To use a Location in your Budget, select the Location column in a detail line of your budget and start to type the name of the Location. MMB will match what you type to an option from your Location Setup Screen.
Note: If you need to display the Location column in your budget, click the menu button (three dots) in the upper-right of the budgeting grid.
If you type the name of a new Location you will be given the option to add it to your budget.
To change the Location used for a line simply update the value in the Location column, or delete the value. Each line may only be set to one Location.
Applying Locations from the Apply Tools Pane¶
You can also apply a Location to many Detail lines at once from the Apply Tools pane.
- Select the Detail lines you want to change
- Click the
Loctab to open the Location list (it matches your Location Setup Screen) - Click a Location to apply it to every selected line
- Clicking a Location already applied to all selected lines removes it from those lines
- When your selection has mixed Locations, all Locations show unchecked
Applying from the tab works at the Detail level, and each change reverses with Undo in the main budget window.
Note: Filter In-use for Locations will simply filter the list to any Locations used in your budget, not necessarily for the selected Account or Detail lines.
Partial (Tri-State) Display¶
At the Account and Category levels, a Location shows a partial state when some but not all of the Detail lines beneath it use that Location. These higher-level rows are read-only; apply Locations from the Detail level.
