Undo & Redo

Movie Magic Budgeting keeps a history of your most recent actions (up to 200 steps since the last time the budget was opened) and allows you to undo them at any time. You can redo undone actions until you make another edit to your budget.

Note: Not all actions are captured for the undo/redo history. Actions that are not destructive to your budget (such as column visibility settings) are generally not available for undo/redo.

Note: In some rare cases the shortcut keys described below may not work immediately and need to be pressed multiple times before the action is undone or redone. If you run in to this frequently we recommend using the UNDO and REDO buttons on screen instead.

If you want to undo or redo a long list of actions please take a look at the history feature.

Undo

  • After taking an action in the budget or setup screens...
  • Click the UNDO button (a left-turning arrow) in the top right of the screen
    • You can also press CTRL + Z on a PC or CMD + Z on a Mac
    • You can also click the Edit menu and select Undo
  • The system will undo your most recent captured action
  • The system will briefly present a small banner describing the action that was undone

Redo

  • After undoing an action in the budget or setup screens...
  • Click the REDO button (a right-turning arrow) in the top right of the screen
    • You can also press CTRL + Y on a PC or CMD + Y / CMD + SHIFT + Z on a Mac
    • You can also click the Edit menu and select Redo
  • The system will redo your most recently undone action
  • The system will briefly present a small banner describing the action that was redone

Note: Redo is only available for actions you have recently undone. If you make an edit to your budget after undoing some actions, you will not be able to redo those actions anymore.
