Find & Replace

Movie Magic Budgeting allows you to Find lines quickly based on Account Numbers, Descriptions, or Applied Tools. You can also replace the contents of multiple lines or cells in just a few clicks.

Open Find & Replace

To open the Find & Replace tool you can either

• Click the FIND button in the top navigation bar
• Click to open the Find tab in the Apply Tools pane
• Press CMD + F on a Mac or CTRL + F on a PC

Select Find Type

The option to find by Description (Detail line) is selected by default the first time it is opened. After that your most recent Find selection will be retained. To find lines based on different criteria click the drop-down and select what type of search you want to perform.

Extended Column Coverage

Find reaches more columns than before. Globals search now returns Rate and 4X matches in addition to Amt and X, and the Acct./Column field shows which column each match came from. Unit search covers Unit2, Unit3, and Unit4, including when those columns are hidden from the grid.

Subtotal Adjustment Rows in Results

Subtotal adjustment rows now appear in the Results table across all search types and support both Replace and Add. For a Rate search these rows still appear, but their checkbox is disabled, since a Rate cannot be replaced on a subtotal adjustment row.
